CA - Embattled San Jose pastor resigns, SNAP pushes for more information
We're glad this irresponsible pastor, Fr. Lieu Vu, has resigned. He needlessly and deliberately put kids in harm's way by letting a convicted child molester volunteer at at leastt one parish function. He also foolishly argued for "forgiveness." While forgiveness is good, it shouldn't be mistaken for prudence.
MO - Trial proceeds vs. priest
A civil child sex abuse and cover up lawsuit against who has been called “Illinois’ most notorious predator priest” is moving ahead and will be the focus of a hearing today in St. Clair County Illlinois.
MI - Sex charges dropped against former Catholic teacher, SNAP responds
A former Catholic school teacher accused of inappropriate sexual activity with children has pled guilty to domestic violence charges and had the child abuse charges against him dropped.
UK - SNAP applauds “broad investigation” into Diocese of Chicester
This investigation is a huge step in the right direction. Too often, those with positions of authority within the church are able to avoid punishment for their crimes. We are grateful to police and prosecutors for their years-long effort to investigate these crimes and to apprehend those responsible.

Yesterday, Fr. Robert Poandl was indicted by federal authorities on child sex crimes.
OH - Accused predator priest is back on the job
Cleveland’s Catholic bishop is restoring to ministry a priest who “groomed” a teenager and tried to abuse him.
UT - SNAP applauds ouster of pastor who failed to report abuse
A West Valley City minister has been removed for failing to quickly report allegations of child abuse.
OH- Ohio priest indicted for West Virginia child sex crimes
We are grateful to this brave victim for cooperating with law enforcement authorities and trying to protect other kids from horrific child sex crimes by this predator priest.
IL- Child molesting teacher worked at another school
The seemingly expanding case of a child molesting teacher, Harold Jerry Mash, is deeply troubling.

2023 has been a long year with many ups and downs for us all. As we close out the year, we at SNAP hope that you are feeling like you are on your way to being healthy, fulfilled, and happy. This past year has brought both successes and challenges. Thanks to the support you have shown in the past, we’ve been able to celebrate the good days and weather the stormy ones. Now, we are once again asking for your support as we work to support survivors new and old as we ‘Move SNAP Forward.’
At SNAP we are proud to have hosted a very well-attended conference in August 2023. This event allowed us to gather friends, survivors, advocates, and allies for a weekend of camaraderie and connection. We were so happy to be able to welcome many first-time attendees to gather in person and are already looking forward to the next conference.
To strengthen our movement for justice, healing, and prevention, SNAP will be expanding our peer support and providing more volunteer opportunities in the coming year. Through this great work, we are ensuring survivor voices are represented as we work for significant change that will benefit children and survivors.
Right now, survivors worldwide are getting the help they need from SNAP, and more and more reach out to us daily, but we need your help to keep those programs going and get our volunteers the training they need to thrive.
