Finn’s lawyers seem determined to do exactly what Finn’s doing – trying desperately to act like there were just a few dumb mistakes, when in fact, for months or years, several smart church officials deliberately chose secrecy over safety dozens of times.
We have recently learned that Fr. George W. Klein of St. Philip the Apostle parish has been accused of sexually abusing a girl when he was a principal at the St. Benedict High School. It’s been two months since the victim first reported her abuse by Klein to Catholic officials. It’s been two weeks since she met face-to-face and divulged more about her abuse by Klein to Catholic officials.
In a recent memo to Philly priests (below), a bishop says "Not all investigations (into priests accused of sexually abusing kids) will be completed at the same time; therefore, it is anticipated that three to five cases will be announced at a time."
The area’s most prolific predator just passed away too.
Bevilaqua’s lawyers could have volunteered evidence of Bevilaqua’s alleged ill health. They chose not to, and now they’re bellyaching because a judge wants some kind of proof instead of taking them at their word. She’s a smart judge.
Tomorrow, a serial predator priest, Fr. Alejandro “Alex” Castillo will be taken in to custody in order to serve his prison time for pleading guilty to child sexual abuse. A year ago, he was removed from Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Ontario when allegations surfaced that he abused two brothers within last two years.

Imagine if a gang member with a long criminal record announced he was reforming and would start cooperating with police voluntarily, but in reality he continues to submit to police questioning only when subpoenaed? Does that sound like a genuine change of heart? That’s essentially what the Chicago archdiocese is doing with clergy sex abuse and cover up lawsuits.
James McGreal, a notorious predator priest from Seattle, has passed away.
We’re saddened but not surprised that another child sex abuse report involving Fr. Jack Spaulding is surfacing. Child predators rarely strike only once.
