Several clergy sex abuse victims, their supporters and members of SNAP will gather to announce the filing of two new complaints of child molestation and cover up involving two more clerics at the prominent Delbarton School.

Why

An existing complaint, filed in March of 2012 against Delbarton School, Saint Mary's Abbey and the Order of Saint Benedict, named Father Luke Travers and Father Justin Capato. The amended complaint, to be filed Tuesday, names two new clergy perpetrators, Father Timothy Brennan and Father Benedict Worry. The complaint is being filed on behalf of two more victims who claim they were abused while students at Delbarton School. Father Timothy Brennan plead guilty in 1987 to aggravated sexual contact with a 15-year-old Delbarton student. He no longer lives at the abbey. Father Benedict Worry is the current pastor at Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Parish in Linden, New Jersey. Worry was previously a chaplain at Rider University. Before joining Saint Mary's Abbey, Worry was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary monastery in Reno, Nevada. The amended complaint also refers to others at Saint Mary's Abbey who had knowledge of misconduct by members of the Saint Mary’s monastic community. On Tuesday, one victim will assert that Father Giles Hayes and Father Elias Lorenzo were among those who knew of misconduct.

Who

Delbarton School graduate Steve Badt, a resident of Washington DC, along with Bill and Tom Crane (on whose behalf the original complaint was filed in March) will attend the press conference. The fourth victim will not be present at the conference but a statement will be read on his behalf.

The victims are represented by Attorney Greg Gianforcaro of Phillipsburg, New Jersey, who has represented dozens and dozens of adults abused as children in institutional settings.
