SNAP demands clergy files from Fresno Diocese

FRESNO, Calif. - It's been 12 days since we first told you about allegations of sex abuse against Monsignor Craig Harrison and since that day, more allegations have surfaced, according to the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests or SNAP.

Tuesday the organization held a news conference in front of the diocese in Fresno making demands to Bishop Joseph Brennan.      
     
Three members of SNAP stood in front of the diocese holding a quilt with childhood pictures of victims of sexual abuse. Two SNAP members held childhood pictures of themselves. 

The group demanded Bishop Brennan apologize to the victims of sexual abuse. 

“This is personal, we think that the bishop has gotten to a really bad start, one by allowing a rally of several hundred people who rallied in favor of a multiple accused sex offender," said Joey Piscitelli, SNAP volunteer.

SNAP also asked that the bishop release all records of sexual misconduct accusations made to the Fresno Diocese 

“We're asking the bishop of Fresno to release his names and their records and their whereabouts of priests that have been accused here," said Piscitelli.

    Bishop Brennan needs to be ashamed of himself. He never should have permitted the vigil for Msgr. Harrison and should muzzle the attorney. The Diocesan investigation must be conducted in a professional atmosphere of neutrality (vis a vis “blind justice”). That’s sure not the way that Bishop Brennan is allowing this matter to proceed.
