Running for SNAP
Charlie Macko of Berkeley, California, raised over $2000 "Running for SNAP" this summer! We are very grateful for his efforts on our behalf, and we also hope that some of you might consider doing something similar.
This is what Charlie sent to his family and friends as he prepared to run the San Francisco Marathon in July.
"I'm taking the (perhaps foolish) step (pun intended) of running the San Francisco Marathon this year on July 23rd. I wanted to use the opportunity to raise money for a charity which is important to me so I'm hoping you all might take the time to donate to SNAP. SNAP (Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests) is an organization dedicated to helping survivors of those abused by religious institutional authorities. SNAP provides an invaluable service to those recovering and seeking justice for abuses they were victims of around the globe.
Here is a donation link for anyone interested in making a donation - they could use your support! (and so could I as I try to run over the Golden Gate Bridge...)
If you have any specific questions or would like further information - please contact either myself or Melanie Sakoda (SNAP Survivor Support Coordinator located in the East Bay of San Francisco). Her email is [email protected].
Please forward to anyone you think might be interested in donating!
Thank you all for your support and I hope you will consider donating to this worthwhile cause!"
Thank you so much, Charlie!
