Media Availability for Survivors of Clergy Sexual Abuse in Rome and United States during the Papal Abuse Summit, February 21-24

Leaders and representatives from SNAP, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests, will be available to interested media covering the papal abuse summit taking place in Rome from February 21-24. The below delegates will be available for interviews in Rome from February 20-25, and are also available in the United States prior to leaving for Rome:

Tim Lennon is a survivor and volunteer President of the Board of Directors of SNAP. He has been on the Board for the previous eight years. Tim also is the local SNAP leader in Tucson. Tim is retired and volunteers daily with SNAP projects and programs. He is the proud father of twin daughters who bring great joy. He enjoys his home in Tucson and practices power yoga regularly. 

Mary Dispenza, National Representative and Seattle, WA Leader

Mary is a survivor and former Catholic nun, educator and a National Distinguished Principal. She is an activist for the protection of children and for the rights and protection of LGBTQIA persons. Mary is also an artist, photographer and speaker is the author of Split – A Child, a Priest, and the Catholic Church. (Avail. for interviews on 2/19)

Esther Hatfield Miller, Nat’l Representative and Los Angeles Leader

Esther is a survivor and global trauma recovery coach who mentors crime victims to self-heal their trauma by learning a 5-step self-healing system known as “from CHAOS to CALM.”  She is an advocate to prevent sexual assault, restore justice for victims & abolish Statute of Limitations for crimes committed against humanity.

Carol Midboe, National Representative and Austin, TX Leader

Carol Midboe is a veteran with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with over 20 years of cross-industry experience. Her advocacy focuses on sexual violence, harassment, D.M.S.T. and prevention. She leads a local SNAP support group in Austin Texas and a national Lutheran SNAP support group.

Survivor experiences and interviews will also be available to all journalists covering the summit from the U.S. We have survivors in cities and states around the country willing to share their experiences and reactions.
