A 47-year-old Indian priest has been arrested in the US state of Florida on charges of possessing child pornography, with authorities saying he asked a 14-year-old boy to help him delete about 40 pornographic images of young boys from his phone.

Thank God the child had the courage to tell, and the parent immediately reported to authorities. As for the “Due diligence” on the part of the Diocese regarding complete background checks for visiting Priests, I realize now that is a joke. The church repeatedly transferred these criminals from place to place without a paper trail or thought about putting children in harms way. My abuser was on a student Visa in the US studying for a masters in Pastoral Counseling at Iona College. Father Alousius J D’Silva , my abuser, was from Mumbai India. Does anyone supervise them? With so much controversy about immigration rules and regulations has or does anyone closely monitor what the Catholic Church brings in?
