Phil Saviano is often referred to as an "elder statesman" of the abuse victims' advocacy movement. In 1992 he revealed his abuse in a front page Boston Globe story. In 1997, after managing to settle a lawsuit with no gag order, he launched the first New England SNAP chapter. Phil created the original SNAP national website in 2001 and is a recent SNAP board member.
