SNAP challenges NYC’s top Catholic official to return donation
Baltimore's archbishop is returning $10,500 that was given to him by a now-disgraced West Virginia bishop. We call on New York's Cardinal Timothy Dolan to do the same.
It is not immediately clear how much money Bishop Michael Bransfield gave Cardinal Dolan, nor his rationale for doing so. What is clear, however, is that Bishop Bransfield is guilty of financial misdeeds, as a thorough investigative piece by the Washington Post demonstrates.
Cardinal Dolan should not benefit from Bishop Bransfield’s wrongdoing. He should publicly disclose how much money he was given and immediately follow Archbishop Lori’s example and return every nickel of it.
