Despite Previous Refusal from DA, Bishop Joseph Hart May Still be Charged
Our hearts ache for the likely dozens of his deeply wounded victims who have waited so patiently for justice. We hope that, with this latest development, they will once again have an opportunity for justice and will see their abuser face criminal charges for his crimes.
To protect the vulnerable, heal the wounded, and help law enforcement, we again urge parents, parishioners and the public to call police and prosecutors with even the slightest, oldest, smallest fact, rumor or observation about Bishop Hart. No detail is too small or insignificant.
And finally, we beg both Catholic and law enforcement officials to re-double their work to get this dangerous serial child molesting cleric off the streets. We know that mere age is no real impediment to a determined predator and that abusers do not suddenly stop abusing.
