For immediate release: Wednesday, April 13, 2016

Statement by David Clohessy of St. Louis, Director of SNAP, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (314 566 9790314 645 5915 home, [email protected])

A Wyoming symphony musician is being sued in Massachusetts for reportedly sexually harassing two young women. We hope he’s suspended until this case is resolved.

Eric Ruske was named in a civil lawsuit filed yesterday by a veteran attorney who has represented hundreds of victims of sexual violence.

He is set to perform this weekend. http://www.wyomingsymphony.org/

We hope every person who may have seen, suspected or suffered any wrongdoing by Ruske will find the strength and courage to come forward.

No matter what Wyoming Symphony officials do or don’t do, we urge every single person who saw, suspected or suffered child sex crimes and cover ups in any institution to protect kids by calling police, get help by calling therapists, expose wrongdoers by calling journalists, seek justice by calling attorneys, and be comforted by calling support groups like ours. This is how young people will be safer, wounded adults will recover, predators will be prosecuted, cover ups will be deterred and the truth will surface.

Ruske’s alleged victims are represented by Boston attorney Carmen Durso (617-728-9123[email protected]).

(SNAP, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests, is the world’s oldest and largest support group for clergy abuse victims. SNAP was founded in 1988 and has more than 20,000 members. Despite the word “priest” in our title, we have members who were molested by religious figures of all denominations, including nuns, rabbis, bishops, and Protestant ministers.
