Unique Ways to Support SNAP

SNAP offers a variety of ways through which charitable donations may be made. Beyond the traditional check and credit card donations we receive on a regular basis, there are other unique options that you might like to consider to help support SNAP.

Matched Gifts are donations from corporations or businesses that match charitable gifts from employees (or retirees) at a specific ratio set by the employer, the most common being 1:1. All matching gifts require that the employee (or retiree) completes a matching gift form that is then provided to SNAP to confirm the individual’s gift and returned by SNAP to the employer. To determine whether your employer will match your donation to SNAP, just go to the bottom of our Donate Page where you will see the headline “See if your employer will match your donation!” and complete the form.

Publicly Traded Securities (Stock) may be donated to SNAP. Whether you are a supporter who wishes to make a donation of publicly traded securities to SNAP or a broker whose client wishes to make a stock donation to SNAP, please review the Stock Donation Instructions and share them with your broker or client. Donations of appreciated stock often serve as wonderful end-of-year gifts as you plan your charitable tax deductions for 2020.

Bequest in your will or trust is an easy way to make a planned gift, one made at a future date, to SNAP. We are dependent upon the thoughtful generosity of our supporters, members and friends whose forward-looking philanthropic contributions will ensure our continued success. These gifts enable us to honor the past, support the present, and provide for the future. When preparing a bequest, please be sure to work with your personal financial planner or tax attorney to verify that the bequest is written per your intentions. If you do opt to make a bequest to SNAP, please notify Patrick Price, Fundraising and Development Manager, at [email protected].
