Accused predator priest is believed to be living in/near Lincoln NE
Statement by David Clohessy of St. Louis, Director of SNAP, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (314 566 9790, [email protected])
We hope that Lincoln Catholic officials warn Nebraska citizens and Catholics about this accused priest. Lincoln’s bishop has considerable resources – a bully pulpit, a diocesan website, dozens of parish bulletins, and hundreds of staff and volunteers. He should use these resources and do all he can to alert unsuspecting families about this alleged child predator.
We also hope that anyone who may have seen, suspected or suffered crimes by Fr. Dickerson will speak up. Only by coming forward, calling police, and getting help can victims both heal themselves and protect others.
(SNAP, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests, is the world’s oldest and largest support group for clergy abuse victims. We’ve been around for 22 years and have more than 10,000 members. Despite the word “priest” in our title, we have members who were molested by religious figures of all denominations, including nuns, rabbis, bishops, and Protestant ministers. Shreveport man accusing priest of sexual abuse in $12 million lawsuit

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) – A federal lawsuit claims a former Shreveport priest abused a little boy more than two decades ago.
The victim, who is now 40 years-old and living in Tennessee, claims it happened at St. John Berchman's Parish.
According to the alleged victim's attorney, Jesuit Priest Donald Dickerson raped, molested and sexually abused the boy back in 1982.
He is now seeking $12 million in damages.
The Texas attorney is also representing a New Orleans man who says he too was molested by Dickerson.
We tried to reach St. John Berchman's for a comment, but we have not heard from them.
We also unsuccessfully tried to reach Dickerson at his last known address in Lincoln, Nebraska.
