Bizarre, secretive Catholic cult sues tiny band of ex-members

Statement by David Clohessy of St. Louis, national director of SNAP, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (314 566 9790 cell, 314 645 5915 home)

This is a mean-spirited Goliath v. David assault on the freedom of speech and assembly rights of good, wounded people who are recovering from deep wounds inflicted by a bizarre, secretive and unhealthy cult.

The Legion wants to know the names of the ex-members who are criticizing it, so the order’s top officials can intimidate them into silence. This brutal legal maneuver is a threat to the First Amendment and privacy rights of individuals and self-help groups of all kinds and sizes.
