Statement by David Clohessy of St. Louis, national director of SNAP, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests, a support group

"We're thrilled for these wounded but brave and persistent victims. It's wonderful that the state's highest court is giving them the least they deserve - their day in court.

They have suffered and continue to suffer irreparable harm yet are sticking their necks out seeking to hold complicit church officials accountable for these horrific crimes.

These courageous individuals deserve our gratitude. Mississippi is a safer place because they found the strength to warn others about predator priests."
