As a constituent of yours who cares deeply about the safety of children and the prevention of sexual abuse, I am writing to you today to share this Federal Blueprint for Policy Action developed by the Keep Kids Safe coalition. I urge you to show your support for children and survivors and support the policies and goals within this important document.

KKS is group of leading prevention, healing, and justice organizations, including CHILD USA, Darkness to Light, RAINN, SNAP, Together For Girls, and the Army of Survivors, who are dedicated to eradicating the scourge of sexual abuse and ensuring children are protected and survivors have the support they need. As a [survivor of abuse / ally of survivors / someone who cares about children], it is important to me that my elected representatives care about preventing abuse and providing resources to children, families, and survivors.

This Federal Blueprint contains policy suggestions and research into the latest best practices for preventing abuse, healing survivors, and providing justice to victims. It includes suggestions, such as new legislation that will increase funding for programs and research, incentives for states to pass laws promoting evidence-based prevention and education programs, and the creation of a federal commission that would hold institutions that enable and cover-up abuse accountable. The US is lagging behind other countries in this area. It is time that we once again become a leader and demonstrate to the world that the US will prioritize the protection and safeguarding of our children.
