INT - Pope Resigns; SNAP responds

The College of Cardinals will now look to its membership for a new leader, someone who can lead the Church into a new era. We hope that they look for a man among them who will protect the most vulnerable among the faithful: innocent children and reach out to the most hurt among the faithful: victims of clergy sexual abuse.

For the Church to truly embody the spiritual teachings of Jesus Christ, it must be led by a pontiff who demands transparency, exposes child-molesting clerics, punishes wrongdoers and enablers, cooperates with law enforcement, and makes true amends to those who were hurt so greatly by Catholic priests, employees and volunteers.

The era of cover-up and secrecy in the Catholic Church must end. Our greatest hope is that the newest Pope agrees and becomes a true leader in the spirit and teaching of the Gospels..

Victims of child sexual abuse agree on one thing: they want to ensure that what happened to them never happens to another child. The only way for that to happen is for the Cardinals to select a Pontiff who puts child safety and victim healing first, as the teachings of Jesus Christ dictate.

Do we need another Pope? Remember the definition of INSANITY: Doing the same thing, over and over again, and expecting different results. Maybe it’s time for hierarchical representation that is more reflective of their flock.

Those who press for female priests should know dt d gospel of Christ stil. Remain the same bcs among 12 apostles non was woman. Why clamour for women priest they are weaker sex & can’t discharge d work of Christ to its fulnes. For any one dt uses any priest scandal to abuse d church let him or her refrain bcs neither d gospel nor leaders thought d person to commite d evil act but their own vain flesh . U are not obligated to abuse d chuch of Christ either ur require to pray & contribute ur quota to spread d gospel bcs after ds world had ended we must all b judged according to our works therefore seize from abuse d church or d priests they hv being anointed & u should not touch Gods anointed or do him harm for only God can judge him. Do d work of envangelist & leave fighting for table in d church. 1timothy 2 vs 11 &12 mandated women to learn in silent & usurp not authority over men

it won,t change ..they will not vote in anyone who is different then there true meaning hate of woman gays .but love child molesters ..if a priest touch a woman he is kicked out so fast but rape kids they move right up to be pope

I want to believe the church is trying to do what’s humanly possible to correct itself and better serve its followers. If only for their own good. Although it’s hard to forget, I can find a way to forgive, but there’s an old saying,,,,“once you’ve been burned by scalding milk, every time you see the cow you cry”.

Winter Appeal 2023

2023 has been a long year with many ups and downs for us all. As we close out the year, we at SNAP hope that you are feeling like you are on your way to being healthy, fulfilled, and happy. This past year has brought both successes and challenges. Thanks to the support you have shown in the past, we’ve been able to celebrate the good days and weather the stormy ones. Now, we are once again asking for your support as we work to support survivors new and old as we ‘Move SNAP Forward.’

At SNAP we are proud to have hosted a very well-attended conference in August 2023. This event allowed us to gather friends, survivors, advocates, and allies for a weekend of camaraderie and connection. We were so happy to be able to welcome many first-time attendees to gather in person and are already looking forward to the next conference.

To strengthen our movement for justice, healing, and prevention, SNAP will be expanding our peer support and providing more volunteer opportunities in the coming year. Through this great work, we are ensuring survivor voices are represented as we work for significant change that will benefit children and survivors.

Right now, survivors worldwide are getting the help they need from SNAP, and more and more reach out to us daily, but we need your help to keep those programs going and get our volunteers the training they need to thrive.
