NC--Victims blast Duke U over rape allegations vs. basketball player

An independent investigation must be launched into allegations that Duke University officials kept silent about rape allegations against basketball player Rasheed Sulaimon.

That’s the only way the cloud over Duke can be cleared up. Without decisive action by the university’s board, this controversy will no doubt keep growing,

“Innocent until proven guilty” is a crucial concept. It’s what we use when considering locking up a person. It is not, however, the standard we should use in deciding whether to publicize credible allegations of sexual violence.

We hope that anyone who may have seen, suspected or suffered crimes by Sulaimon – or anyone at Duke – come forward, get help, call police, protect others adn
