WI - Dolan 2007 letter to Vatican is “smoking gun” proving he committed federal bankruptcy fraud, victims say
New York Cardinal conspired with Vatican while in Milwaukee to transfer nearly $57 million into new corporation for the “protection” of funds “from any legal claim and liability”
Damning Cardinal Dolan letter is released; SNAP responds
For immediate release: Monday, July 1
A letter released today proves that Cardinal Timothy Dolan deliberately and deceptively shifted millions of dollars into a fund so it would be protected from clergy sex abuse lawsuits and settlements.
In 2007, then-Milwaukee Archbishop Dolan wrote that moving $57 million in church funds will provide "improved protection of these funds from any legal claim and liability.
Victims blast Milwaukee Catholic officials
For immediate release: Monday, July 1
Keeping their secrets until the last possible day, Milwaukee’s archbishop finally released long-hidden records about heinous clergy sex crimes and cover ups today. He did so, however, while working hard to “spin” the documents, obscure the truth and deceive parishioners and the public about this on-going scandal.
We beg Catholics everywhere to carefully read these files. Kids are safer when cover ups are unveiled and understood. And the horrific truth is best understood when the actual writings and deeds of Catholic officials are studied, not when they are spun or summarized or sanitized by church public relations experts. We hope that Catholics and citizens will ignore the carefully crafted spin that Listecki continues to put out designed to minimize the inexcusable, recklessness, and callousness of dozens of his colleagues and supervisors.
TX/MA- Texas denies Ex-MA predator priest's parole
For immediate release: June 28, 2013
Texas officials today denied parole to a convicted serial predator priest, Thomas Teczar.
Kids are safer with Teczar behind bars. Just because a predator is elderly doesn't mean he's less dangerous. And just becaues a predator claims he's ill doesn't mean he really is.
TX/MA- predator priest seeks parole
We oppose parole for Fr. Thomas H. Teczar, who in 2009 was convicted of rape and sexual abuse of an 11-year-old boy. In addition to this conviction, there are documented accusations of Teczar sexually assaulting children for nearly 50 years.

Statement by Barbara Dorris of St. Louis, Outreach Director of SNAP, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (314 862 7688 home, 314 503 0003 cell, [email protected])
In a predictable move, Milwaukee’s archbishop posted a blog today in which he again tries to obscure the truth and deceive parishioners and the public about clergy sex crimes and cover ups.
A centerpiece of Archbishop Jerome Listecki’s public relations effort is his claim that Catholic officials did “their best with what they knew at the time.” He suggests that it was largely ignorance that led Milwaukee church supervisors to ignore, minimize, hide and enable horrific crimes against children.
He’s wrong.

A dangerous predator priest is one step closer to being sent back to the US for trial. We are grateful for Indian court officials for their ruling today in the case of Fr. Joseph Palanivel Jeyapaul, who molested girls in the Crookston MN diocese.
