Catholic Church loses case in UK, SNAP responds

We applaud this ruling and the message that it sends. We believe that, when church officials who conceal or enable are held accountable alongside the offending priest, it helps deter future crimes. Church officials who remain silent and fail to report crimes to police must be held responsible as well, both financially and publicly.

Now that this ruling has come down, we hope the brave victim who has endured this long and arduous legal process will be able to continue her healing journey, comforted by the fact that she has taken great strides to protect children, both in the UK and elsewhere.

RobertL You’re going to love this! Here is the Catholic Church’s response to Her “Loss of Religious Freedom,” due to the response of the UK’s Board of Appeals……… Read it and weep at the mentality of those, who could possibly make this type of interpretation………

“The judicial system is unafraid of the Church and will rule according to the LAW of Man, rather than the Law of the Church!”

Right F*cking On, Jeannie! ’Scuse the language, but the elation I feel when I see another of my fellow humans assert that church law is not superior to civil law, I get goosebumps! Carry on!

When I first started to read the story, “Catholic Church Looses Abuse Liability Appeal in the UK,” found yesterday on “Abuse Tracker,” my initial reaction was, “This is another watershed moment!” The Appeals Court in the UK has firmly established that a Pedophile Priest is an employee of the diocese and bishop and both are “Liable” for the criminal actions of their priests! O.K. “What does this have to do with us,” on might legitimately wonder? Like the Lynn trial, this new judicial decision will have an impact on every English-speaking country, and lawmakers here and elsewhere will be examining the decisions of these judges to see if they would be applicable here in the States, or in Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, etc……. This ruling, almost immediately following the ruling of the court in Philly, should have the Hierarchy of the Catholic Church all over the world reeling and staggering at these new decisions. These rulings are sending a new message to the Church, "The judicial system is unafraid of the Church and will rule according to the LAW of Man, rather than the Law of the Church!
