SNAP Applauds Survivor for Coming Forward about Delbarton School Abuse
Our hearts ache for T.M. and the betrayal he suffered from the New Jersey Catholic clerics who committed and concealed heinous crimes against him. At the same time, we’re inspired by his courage in taking action and hope it prompts others who are still suffering to do likewise.
Here’s the most maddening part of the story: “St. Mary's has settled 11 lawsuits since 2006, and the names of some of the priests are available but the abbey has declined to provide information about them.” How can Catholics donate to any church entity that continues to endanger kids and protect predators by being so reckless and secretive?
Throughout the church’s on-going abuse and cover up crisis, Delbarton school officials have been silent, deceitful and mean-spirited. We hope T.M.’s lawsuit will further expose the corruption within the school hierarchy.
