2008 Story #7 – Clarity

Today I find myself with just a bit more insight into my circumstances of yesteryear. There is a past of confusion that perhaps I'll never truly understand but know that the present is more promising. And how?

I know that disclosing my past victimization in discussing present day abuse matters that are uncomfortable with others makes a difference. Just the conversation opens doors and perhaps the awareness of others and prevents another child becoming a victim, too. The conversation desensitizes a subject that is still considered taboo.... The conversation desensitizes a subject that is still considered taboo....No matter how I feel, I have a RESPONSIBILITY to children by making the conversation "ok".

The conversation, the leafleting, the conferences, the community, the emails, the stories, the love of my partner and the actions make each day less burdensome. I finally can see and shed some light, perhaps clarity!
