| The Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests SNAP Press Statement For immediate release: Monday, July 13, 2009 Lexington priest suspended after abuse alleged; SNAP responds Statement by Barbara Dorris, SNAP National Outreach Director 314-862-7688 We're disturbed that Lexington's bishop took three months to remove an accused child predator. There are at least three accusers and they've convinced an attorney their reports are credible. This should have prodded the bishop to act quickly and decisively to safeguard kids. Instead, he obviously took his sweet time before taking steps to protect the vulnerable. We urge anyone who saw suspected or suffered clergy sex crimes, by this priest or any cleric, to come forward, get help, call police, protect others and start healing. http://www.kentucky.com/158/story/860458.html Contact | |
