Today's news vindicates the courageous, long-suffering and heroic men who have lived for decades with deep pain caused by Maciel's crimes.CONTACT

We cannot thank them enough for their persistence in exposing this shrewd, dangerous predator.

It's an especially meaningful vindication because the Legion has long mounted a mean-spirited and duplicitous vilification campaign against these brave, wounded men that has been relentless and hurtful.

Still, we hope Vatican official will go further and remove Maciel from the priesthood. It's hard to imagine a single act that would more strongly show that child sex crimes within the church will not be tolerated. Voluntary restrictions on Maciel will, to some, seem 'too little, too late.'
