SNAP Press Statement

Statement Regarding Arrest of
Former Los Angeles Priest

Statement by Matt Severson of Van Nuys,
SNAP Spokesperson and survivor of Michael Baker

January 19, 2006

"For myself, and for the many other victims of Michael Baker, I am glad that he is being held accountable for at least some of his crimes.

However, no amount of jail time can ever repair the lives of those Mr. Baker has devastated.

Hopefully, as justice is served, we might finally begin the healing process. It has been a long time in coming.

Conviction is a long way from arrest, so it's crucial now that any victims and witnesses of Baker's crimes come forward now to the police or prosecutor."
