Director "This is a long overdue baby step. Now it's crucial that Mahony make sure these men never hurt another child. We don't expect a notorious, polluting chemical company to just disclose its dangerous dump sites. We expect them to fence and clean up those sites, and warn others about them. So Mahony's work is just beginning. In every parish where a known abusive priest worked, every single person should ask fellow Catholics 'Did anything happen to your child?' and 'Have you called the police with any suspicions or information?' Kids will only be safe when these dangerous men are behind bars. Mahony should do what several other church leaders have done: put the molesters names up on the archdiocese's web site, and beg his flock to call the law if they experienced, witnessed or suspected any abusive behavior, no matter when it took place and no matter who the perpetrator is. We hope these numbers prompt more victims to come forward, more witnesses to speak up, and more Catholics to stay skeptical and vigilant."
