SNAP applauds filing of civil suits against Bernie Fine
We’re grateful any time a child sex abuse victim finds the courage to take action against a child predator. We wish these brave men well in their effort to safeguard kids from a serial child molester.
Fine no doubt has shrewd, expensive defense lawyers. They’ll exploit every technicality and legal maneuver possible to help this dangerous man evade responsibility for his heinous crimes. So it’s crucial that others with knowledge or suspicions of Fine’s crimes continue to come forward, call police, protect others and start healing
We hope each of the three civil suits against Fine will help expose the wrongdoing of others in Syracuse who knew of or suspected Fine’s crimes but ignored or concealed them. That’s an enormous benefit of civil litigation – it can help uncover evidence of complicity by a predator’s colleagues and supervisors, and thus deter others from keeping secret about possible child sex crimes in the future.

50 State AG Call for Grand Jury
Any investigation must be:
- independent of and separate from the church
- must have subpoena powers and ability to compel testimony under oath
Anything short of these criteria is a sham and whitewash.
In addition, write letters to the editor, make phone calls to politicians as they can apply pressure to keep them responsive to our demand. We need to make efforts to ensure that they follow up on what the state is doing to investigate these crimes.
Note to Letter Writers
Use your own words and style of writing. Cut and paste from the templates as you wish. Include your experiences, whether as a survivor or as a member of the community. And relate your letter to the state you were abused in or state now living in.
