Retired Cardinal will testify, SNAP responds

We're grateful that Bevilacqua will have to face tough questions under oath about concealing heinous child sex crimes. He shouldn't be able to evade responsibility and justice by claiming to be ill.

At the same time, however, it's distressing to many victims to see widely-discredited, corrupt church officials continue being treated with deference by secular authorities. We wish he'd be forced to come to court like everyone else, but are glad at least that he isn't getting off scott-free after having knowingly  put hundreds of kids in harm's way for years.
