Where do “these guys” get the money for best lawyers? One thing people could do is not support the Catholic church and yet people continue to do so (and a lot). If something like this happened for example at McDonalds it would be less than a year before all the McD’s would be out of business. Do snap members continue to support the church financially?

I’m sorry, I am not sure I worded that right. What I meant is should a patient ask about their therapists religion because it might cause a problem. The other issue I was talking about is that would somebody have difficulty finding one who is NOT Catholic. The reason being that, if the Catholic schools do not mess a student up, they prepare students very well for college. That and almost all Catholic universities offer psychology as a major. It may be hard to find someone who went to a public high school, non-religious university, and is not Catholic. Hopefully, there are some out there.

One thing that people could do: Keep their kids away from priests! I don’t have any kids and I know every priest is not like that but why take the chance? Also I no longer support the church financially because why should my money be used for lawyers and settlements? It would also help to have altar servers be over 18 to reduce access to kids.

Would it be better or not if the therapist him/herself is Catholic? If so and it was wonderful for them would they not be a good choice if one has this abuse? Since there are a lot of Catholic universities and Catholic schools prepare students for college better than public schools (that is, if they don’t mess the kids up) I would think a lot of therapists would be Catholic.

I live in the area. The media has already said who the survivor is. I heard he has a blog that I would like to read and I am interested in how all this turns out. I have had abuse from the church too, but it was not sexual, just mean and nasty. Do many people here support the Catholic church?
