More than any other state, Pennsylvania is aggressively going after child sex predators.

From multiple grand jury investigations into the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, a similar grand jury probe into the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown, the prosecution of Jerry Sandusky and the investigation into systemic sex abuse of students at a New Hope private school, state prosecutors have positioned the state as arguably the most aggressive in the nation against child sex crimes.

A pending grand jury investigation into six Roman Catholic dioceses in the state is poised to further ratchet up the scope of that outlook. The probe ostensibly will provide a complete look into . . .

I am not convinced of the true “aggressive” motion of the state of Pennsylvania. I was abused in the 80’s and finally told the Greensburg Diocese of the crimes committed to me within the state of PA and other states. My abuser was not only the Parrish priest in the local town of Connellsville PA, but was a teacher at the school I attended. The movement of priests from school district/ Parrish’s to another is to me a red flag of previous incidents to hide what was going on by the Bishop. My case went to the 3rd circuit court in PA only to be denied for statute of limitations. Altoona – Johnston Diocese is a nice step to “show” care and concern of the abused. But I bet that this is squelched to continue by the Catholic $ Church $. I have learned that if you believe in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit you do not need to be inside a designated building to do so. The world that “God” made is his church, thus you can pray and worship anywhere your mind and soul are at peace to recognize the greatness and wonder of the Holy Trinity.

I can’t post in many of these papers because I don’t do in your face book etc. But as a Pennsylvanian and a former Roman Catholic priest, We have had multiple priest child molesters admit their crimes to grand juries and nothing happened to them. We have had multiple grand jury reports identifying hundreds of child molesters priests and bishops covering for them and nothing happened to them. PA talks a lot big talk but tell me-how many of these rapacious child molester priests and bishops have faced justice and gone to prison? The justice system in PA-a lot of big talk and no results-hundreds of sexual molester priests free and the bishops who covered up for them-free. I want RESULTS-NOT A LOT OF EMPTY TALK. When PA starts sending priests and bishops to prison-then we can say we did something! A really hate big mouth blabbermouths-who are all talk and no results-welcome to justice in PA.

2023 has been a long year with many ups and downs for us all. As we close out the year, we at SNAP hope that you are feeling like you are on your way to being healthy, fulfilled, and happy. This past year has brought both successes and challenges. Thanks to the support you have shown in the past, we’ve been able to celebrate the good days and weather the stormy ones. At SNAP we are proud to have hosted a very well-attended conference in August 2023. This event allowed us to gather friends, survivors, advocates, and allies for a weekend of camaraderie and connection. We were so happy to be able to welcome many first-time attendees to gather in person and are already looking forward to the next conference.

To strengthen our movement for justice, healing, and prevention, SNAP will be expanding our peer support and providing more volunteer opportunities in the coming year. Through this great work, we are ensuring survivor voices are represented as we work for significant change that will benefit children and survivors.

Right now, survivors worldwide are getting the help they need from SNAP, and more and more reach out to us daily, but we need your help to keep those programs going and get our volunteers the training they need to thrive.
