PA--Victims applaud Cosby ruling
For immediate release: Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016
Wake up, rich rapists! Your days of sweetheart deals are diminishing.
That’s the message a Philadelphia judge sent to Bill Cosby today. This is a significant step forward for victims of sexual violence. We hope this victory will encourage other prosecutors and police to pursue older rape cases.
And we hope that this ruling will make other prosecutors pause before giving “get out of jail free” cards to accused rapists, whatever their intentions or rationale might be.
SNAP, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests, is the world’s oldest and largest support group for clergy abuse victims. SNAP was founded in 1988 and has more than 20,000 members. Despite the word “priest” in our title, we have members who were molested by religious figures of all denominations, including nuns, rabbis, bishops, and Protestant ministers. Our website is SNAPnetwork.org
