NC-Youth pastor pleads guilty in sexual abuse charge

For immediate release: Thursday, August 28, 2014

Statement by Barbara Dorris of St. Louis, Outreach Director of SNAP, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (314-503-0003 cell, [email protected])

A former youth pastor from Concord has pleaded guilty to charges that he sexually molested children and was sentenced to sixteen years.

Robert “Bobby” Price was the youth pastor at King’s Way Baptist church in Concord, NC. Law enforcement officials began investigating Price after a victim reported to police in 2011. A civil case against Price has previously been settled. One of Price's victims was represented by Charlotte attorney Seth Langson.

We are glad guilty plea will keep Price away from children for a long time. We also strongly encourage anyone else who has been sexual abused or witnessed abuse to come forward and report to law enforcement. Healing can begin when the truth is revealed.

(SNAP, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests, is the world’s oldest and largest support group for clergy abuse victims. We’ve been around for 25 years and have more than 20,000 members. Despite the word “priest” in our title, we have members who were molested by religious figures of all denominations, including nuns, rabbis, bishops, and Protestant ministers.
