MO--Nuns rally around convicted KC bishop

A group of Missouri nuns is praising a convicted bishop. Unwittingly, they're making the church less safe and healthy, by contributing to a climate in which victims are reluctant to report child sex crimes.
All adults, but especially those in the Catholic Church, have two choices: They can make it harder or easier to expose predators. But when clearly complicit church officials are praised, more victims, witnesses and whistleblowers give up and stay silent, fearing that those who conceal abuse will often be believed and supported while those who disclose abuse will be disbelieved and vilified.
We urge these nuns to act more compassionately and responsibly in the future.

2023 has been a long year with many ups and downs for us all. As we close out the year, we at SNAP hope that you are feeling like you are on your way to being healthy, fulfilled, and happy. This past year has brought both successes and challenges. Thanks to the support you have shown in the past, we’ve been able to celebrate the good days and weather the stormy ones. Now, we are once again asking for your support as we work to support survivors new and old as we ‘Move SNAP Forward.’
At SNAP we are proud to have hosted a very well-attended conference in August 2023. This event allowed us to gather friends, survivors, advocates, and allies for a weekend of camaraderie and connection. We were so happy to be able to welcome many first-time attendees to gather in person and are already looking forward to the next conference.
To strengthen our movement for justice, healing, and prevention, SNAP will be expanding our peer support and providing more volunteer opportunities in the coming year. Through this great work, we are ensuring survivor voices are represented as we work for significant change that will benefit children and survivors.
Right now, survivors worldwide are getting the help they need from SNAP, and more and more reach out to us daily, but we need your help to keep those programs going and get our volunteers the training they need to thrive.

I’m reading a very interesting book at the moment called The Book of Baruch by Justin, part of the Holy Nag Hammadi Library. No wonder the Roman Catholic System called and calls this book heresy.
I think that God is great but the Roman Catholic System is not.

About the nuns. They are delusional. They are blinded by their indoctrination of their religion.
If you show me enough evidence, you can convince me of a lot of things.
The catholic church has convinced me that they are incapable of moving forward with compassion and reason in the regards of child safety.
All they think about is the church. What ever is best for the church.
Not what best for the children, child safety, or any kind of morality.

Religion is not moral. It is the exact opposite. It is the most immoral thing you can be. You must somehow, rise above your childhood indoctrination, for the good of humanity, and realize the mistakes we have made.
