The Safety
of Kids is in Your Bishop's Hands!
We are women and men who
have been sexually abused by clergy. More than anything else,
we want to make sure no other child suffers like we have.
We are upset that some bishops are ignoring the promises they
agreed to last summer in Dallas. We are worried about the rejection
of that policy by Vatican bureaucrats.
Please join us in keeping the focus on preventing future abuse
and on healing those who have already been hurt.
You can help by:
- urging your bishop to remove abusers, regardless of what officials
in Rome say,
- telling police and prosecutors to treat priests who abuse
like other molesters, and
- asking lawmakers to extend the statute of limitations to make
prosecution of abusers more likely.
Your Bishop, in particular, is key. He is part of a four man
US team now making changes in American church's sex abuse policy.
Please call him and urge him to fight hard to preserve that
policy and protect youngsters and vulnerable adults.
Working together,
we can make this church safe for everyone.
