Catholics Deserve Honesty

We are women and men who have been sexually abused by Catholic clergy. We are trying to recover from
this trauma and to protect others from being abused
in the future.

At their recent meeting in Dallas, America's Catholic bishops pledged greater openness about the sexual abuse of children by priests. In light of this commitment, Bishop Wilton Gregory of Belleville recently revealed how much his diocese has spent dealing with this terrible problem.

St. Louis area Catholics deserve to know how much of our money is being spent on attorneys, public relations professionals, settlements, and therapy for abusive priests. Openness is an important step toward healing.
