The priestly culture of saying one thing and doing another creates opportunities for blackmail and extortion – bread and butter for sexual predators. This is the reality of priestly culture that promotes and sustains an atmosphere of sexual abuse.

Sexual predator clergy try to lock their victims into a cage of silence and fear, and then do things to create traumatic amnesia. They don’t want children to grow up and remember what happened to them. Survivors have the right to remember the abuse they suffered and the right to pursue justice in a court of law.

They make rules as window dressing to keep the money coming in from the dwindling faithful. Most young people see through the bishops’ manipulations.

Church officials, priests, brothers and nuns will do anything to hide their closeted double lives and try to escape the sex crimes they have committed against children. Those innocent child victims are adults now and they are standing up and banding together for mutual healing and justice. Big church money may buy some legal victories, but they cannot stop each survivor’s creativity in exposing the truth and telling the details of each incidence of abuse to the world. Will you support the predators or the victims? How will you answer to God when you die? Do the right thing now, before it is too late.

Most bishops, priests, and religious live in another world where the abuse of children and those who cannot fight back is an exercise of their imagined power. Now, the organization they belong to is attacking SNAP with the intention of crushing the voices and hopes of survivors for healing and justice. 99.9% of priests and religious tend to keep silent or say things like Egan. Their god is their lust. Don’t be fooled by their double lives. Stop giving them your money. Save your soul by helping survivors.
