CA- Gov. Brown may appoint Catholic defense attorney to bench; SNAP objects

Oh, I am so sorry to learn all of this.
I too am a Californian, “through to the core” (born, and raised and living my whole life here). I have not liked Gerry Brown, now, for very long time, even though I admi that I think I actually voted for him the first time he was elected Governor, many long years ago now. I did not, however, vote for his this last time. I knew so much more about him, this time, but I had already been disallusioned with him as a governor when he first appointed Rose Byrd to the California Supreme Court. I was thoroughly insensed and outraged when she, alone, determined in a very public rape case, that the perpetrator had not committed “great, bodily harm” to the woman he raped. It was then and there that I knew, two things: One, that you can’t trust a politician simply because of their political party designation, and two; you cannot trust the judgement of a Supreme Court Justice, simply because they are a woman. I immediately signed the petition and thus became part of the the recall effort to get Rose Byrd removed from the California Supreme Court, and never voted for Jerry Brown, again.
Do you, Tim, and the other people at SNAP, not know that Jerry Brown first attended a Jesuit seminary (if I remember correctly) with plans of becoming a priest, when he first graduated high school, or maybe it was after college? I forget the exact details of when and how long he attended and if the reason he abandoned that course, was every really discerned, but I have thought him a bit “strange”, over the years. I was completely shocked and offended when he called and thus attacked his female opponent in his last election, Meg Whitman, (called her) a completely rude and heinously wrong and derroguetory sexual appelation. Sadly, I’m not sure writing to his office and trying to appeal to “his better judgement” and suggesting he select someone else for the Orange Judgeship, will achieve the goal. I think it might be more possible to take the issue to the television news, NOW, before she “quietly” is approved. Actually, I think all three of SNAP’s directors have appeared representing the victims cause, very appropriately and convincingly, on the evening, national and world news, in this past year. Maybe you and I can persuade them to directly contact the television news media on this issue. It’s very likely that most of the general population know nothing of Ms. Maria Rullo Schinderle, nor that Jerry Brown is considering her for the Orange Judgeship. If you can make all of this known, to the wider public, quickly, I think there might be a chance of swaying the Governor to suggest and select a better candidate to be Judge, in Orange, CA.
