AZ--Ex minister on the run from the law in abuse case

A minister who worked in Mesa and abused and impregnated a teen is wanted by the law. We beg anyone in Arizona who may have seen, suspected or suffered his crimes to call police immediately.

Rev. Jacob "Jake" Malone, 33, is wanted for rape, institutional sexual assault and related offenses, police in Philadelphia said Monday. Malone met his victim in Mesa.
All too often, when church staff and volunteers are arrested on child sex charges, their current and former church colleagues do nothing. All too often, corrupt church officials refuse to act and thus essentially protect criminals and endanger children. And all too often, secular officials with the power and duty to safeguard society’s most vulnerable pursue ONLY church staff who COMMIT abuse and ignore church staff who CONCEAL abuse.
Church members and employees in Arizona and other places Malone has been have a moral and civic duty to help law enforcement find, investigate and prosecute him. They’ll be tempted, of course, to do nothing. But that’s wrong. And their inaction might help enable Malone to exploit legal technicalities and escape punishment and hurt more kids.
Arizona church officials will no doubt be tempted to do nothing about Malone. That too is wrong. Their inaction might well encourage other clerics to ignore or conceal known or suspected child sex crimes by their colleagues.
So we hope that anyone who saw, suspected or suffered Malone’s crimes will speak up, call police, protect kids, expose wrongdoers, deter cover ups and start healing. We hope Arizona church officials will take aggressive steps to help police and prosecutors.
Finally, we hope that church officials in Pennsylvania, Minnesota and Arizona will ignore their defense lawyers, show real courage, and aggressively reach out to anyone with information or suspicions about Malone that might help law enforcement keep him away from kids for a long time.

Police: Chesco pastor sexually assaulted teen

Police are searching for a former Chester County pastor accused of sexually assaulting and impregnating a teenage girl who lived with him.
Jacob "Jake" Malone, 33, of the 300 block of South Whitford Road in Exton, is wanted for rape, institutional sexual assault and related offenses, police said Monday.
West Whiteland Township police believe Malone might have fled the state.
Malone worked at Calvary Fellowship, a nondenominational church in Downingtown, for about 18 months, said Bill Bateman, one of five pastors at the church.

Through this great work, we are ensuring survivor voices are represented as we work for significant change that will benefit children and survivors.
