If it wasn’t for the seriousness of the crime, I would find this statement hilarious. Rubbing shoulders with drink-drivers, drug users and other accused criminals would be a step up for people like Cardinal Pell. After all what’s lower than a child molester? Molesters get beatup in prison because even the ‘scum of the earth’ one finds in a prison realize that nothing is lower than a child molester. If we could only get Roman Catholic to realize the same. I thought that I had met some pretty low people in my life until I went into Roman Catholic seminary and became a priest. It was only after I went into seminary did I find myself surrounded by child sexual molesters and an array of other sexual deviants-all studying for or already leaders in the Roman Catholic church. In all my prodigal years, I have never seen anything like the elite class of sexual deviants that makeup the leadership of the RCC.
