2015 Conference Breakout Facilitator- Aisling Kerns

Aisling_Kerns_Headshot.jpgAisling Kerns is currently in the graduate art therapy program at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Aisling has spent the past year working with children in the hematology and oncology departments at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. Before beginning her studies, Aisling spent many years living in Southeast Asia working with refugees fleeing the conflict in Burma(Myanmar). Aisling is passionate about working with people of all ages who have experienced trauma and uses creative expression to improve quality of life for others and as a strong tool for coping.

Art Therapy

Art experiential focusing on mindfulness and body awareness. We will take time to think about a discuss mental and physical connections and make art to represent these connections.
